Monique Murphy

Corporate Vice President - Diversity & Inclusion New York Life

Monique Y. Murphy is an accomplished business professional with over 10 years of experience in diversity & inclusion and risk & internal controls.

She is currently Corporate Vice President in the Office of Diversity & Inclusion at New York Life where she sets and executes strategy to support employee engagement and the retention and advancement of diverse employees. Her responsibilities include governing the company’s employee resource group program and professional development programs for women and minorities, diversity & inclusion reporting and analytics, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders in support of diversity & inclusion initiatives.

Monique is also cofounder of Rebirth Creations LLC, a real estate investment company. She and her husband, Dana, invest in underserved communities and rehabilitate properties to provide beautiful, affordable housing to low-income families. They currently own several properties in the New York area with plans to expand their portfolio.

As a native of Wyandanch, NY and first-generation college graduate, Monique possesses a deep passion for socio-economic empowerment for underserved youth and is committed to efforts to equip future leaders with the knowledge, mentoring, and inspiration to reach their fullest potential. She has mentored high school students through several formal programs, including Deloitte Academy, College Summit, and Women of Integrity’s Resolutions Mentorship Program.

Monique has been featured as a Diversity Leader in Profiles for Diversity Journal and as a speaker at numerous conferences and events, on topics ranging from diversity & inclusion to self-empowerment and self-care. She holds a B.S. in Finance from New York University and is a member of the National Diversity Council, Financial Women’s Association, and Women of Integrity Inc., an organization that empowers women and girls. She and her husband, Dana, live on Long Island, New York with their 4-year old son.
